Francesca Pedrosa
Attorney (LLB), Gqebetha, Eastern Cape, South Africa
I’m an admitted attorney and Founder of FPR Attorneys Inc.. My legal practice is based in Gqeberha and offers virtual services across South Africa. I focus on delivering accessible, client-centred legal services across family law, domestic violence, harassment, estates, property, litigation, and labour law.
I’ve been volunteering with RISE since 2021 and currently serve as Joint Head of Legal, providing critical legal guidance and support to those in need. My passion lies in advocating for survivors, and my experience in domestic violence matters has shaped me into both a fierce and compassionate legal practitioner, committed to ensuring that survivors have meaningful access to justice and protection.
With a background in Human Resources and Trust & Property Management, I take a multi-disciplinary approach to legal care, combining legal precision with a deep understanding of people and systems. My work is rooted in compassion, integrity, and accessibility.
Volunteering with RISE has reminded me of the power of simply showing up, not just as a legal professional, but as a consistent, supportive presence in moments of crisis. I believe access to justice should never be a luxury, and that dignity and safety must be non-negotiable.
“My job isn't to judge. It's to help people navigate something hard and come out with as little damage as possible.”
I also currently collaborate with Students for Law and Social Justice (SLSJ) on a virtual law clinic focused on domestic violence and harassment, providing free legal support to vulnerable individuals across the country while training law students in the practical realities of assisting survivors. Through my website and social media, I offer easy-to-understand legal content aimed at helping people make sense of the law and their rights in a clear and accessible way.
My work, both through RISE and FPR Attorneys, remains rooted in helping people navigate legal systems with clarity and confidence, while making space, both professionally and personally, for those healing from trauma while seeking justice. For legal guidance or to learn more about how I work, feel free to get in touch via my website or email.
