So we got to court on the 5th and all went into the court once called. As we sat down before the magistrate could speak, the suspect asked if he could please straighten something out regarding postponement. Before he could finish the Magistrate stated that this was her court room and he needs to respect the chain of command within it.
She gave him the choice of allowing the protection order to go through because when we come back with council on the 1st February, she would have a proper court hearing where cross examination takes place and he can be charged under the criminal law.
She also warned him that she is granting me the warrant of arrest.
I hope he does show up, I have always wanted my day in court with him. I feel it is only justified after all he has done to my life and be accountable and answer for it.
I have the warrant of arrest if he does break any of the terms on the protection order in the mean time.
Overall, I am happy with how the court hearing went and look forward to finally putting this matter behind me. There are still other charges, which includes Regional which will be fruitful this year.
